Pregnant does can be feed unlimited a few days before she kindles or has kits and the whole time she is caring for them. feed them even more when the kits start eating pellets.
Litter - I put horse pellets on the bottom an in the corners of the tray. it helps absorb the smell. then you can put wood shavings on the top. change when it is dirty. put the litter in a corner where the rabbit does most of its business.
Cage - The best way to clean a rabbits cage is to spray it with bleach and let it sit in the sun all day. or you can spray it with Lysol and then hose it down with water and dry it. TAKE THE RABBIT OUT OF THE CAGE BEFOR DOING SO. Or if it is not that dirty you can just switch the newspaper or get clean bedding.
Housing - Rabbits can be kept any where really, in a garage, in a wooden hutch in the yard, in the basement, if moving a rabbit to a cold or vice versa, the temperature change should only be 10 -15 degrees. it can kill your rabbit if different or your rabbit will stop eating and going to the bath room.
Exercise - Rabbits need exercise EVERY DAY. They need to graze on grass and dig, don't be mad when they do hat its in there nature. They must be watched so a dog or cat wont get any ideas if you know what I need. You can walk them on leashes and make a wooden run in the yard. watch them so the don't hop out or dig out and get lost around the neighborhood.
Attitude - all rabbits have there own personality, like cats and dogs. some like to be held others do not. Rabbits WILL NOT bite unless felt threatened or scared. they will also thump when there scared, don't try to hold them and make them fell better, it will make things worse. just leave them be. Does are territorial so bucks would be nicer.
Maintenance - rabbits need there nails cut regularly. brushed daily, but be carful the have sensitive skin. Be carful and gentle when you cut there nails if you cut the pink stuff badly they can bleed to death. put quick stop on there nails and look all of there nails over.
Allergies - If you have cat allergies you are most likely to have rabbit allergies. but not all. I get hives when I'm around cats but I take allergy pills so I am fine around rabbits, but if I forget to take my pills I will itch badly.
Vet care - rabbits don't really need to go to the vet, one of mine had to because he had stomach problems and wouldn't eat, but check ups are recommended.
